Dr. Alvarez is passionate about providing the best care for his family practice patients and medically treating people with substance use disorders.

Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Alvarez also does preventive medical care such as annual wellness visits, sports physicals and well woman exams. In addition to prevention he also cares for a wide variety of acute and chronic medical problems. These include infections or injuries as well as long term medical conditions ranging from hypertension to both insulin and non-insulin dependent diabetes. Now he is focusing on depression and addiction as he believes that these issues always compound other medical problems if not addressed. If any issues are beyond Dr. Alvarez’s scope of practice, he makes sure that his patients get in to see specialists in a timely manner.
